This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The logistics of being back in the classroom were challenging, but we are here and ready to learn. My class is comprised of a diverse group of students. It includes learners who speak English, Spanish, Arabic, Kurdish and Vietnamese, as well as students with Special Needs. They have had to be extra resilient, especially in regards to virtual learning, hybrid learning and being back in class during a global pandemic.

The children in my classroom are strong, charming, and hard working; they deserve the best and I can't wait to see their growth.

They are excited to learn and play together each time they enter the building. My goal is to provide a warm, safe and challenging academic environment for each of them. Just as I will hold them to high standards, I will strive to find the right resources to help them get there.

My Project

Teaching and learning is a science and understanding that our brains need breaks is important. I teach my students that our brain is a muscle that we work out daily with our lessons. I have also taught them that the best way to prevent illnesses, including Covid, is to keep our bodies healthy and strong with exercise.

Just like our brains get a workout in class, our bodies need a workout on the playground.

Children nowadays, don't know many playground games. They resort to chasing and playing tag. These hula hoops and jump ropes will provide a healthy alternative while keeping their bodies strong.
