My students are very unique third graders, eager to learn. Located in the heart of Springfield, MA, my students learn in an older school lacking many of the modern amenities of our suburban neighbors. Ninety percent of our students are considered low income, with 100% of our students receiving free lunch and many living in low-income houses. In addition, many of our students come in hungry, don't have the proper clothing for the weather, and lack basic school materials. Dealing with struggles beyond their maturity level, each one comes in ready to exceed expectations.
"If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn"-Ignacio Estrada.
In the 21st century, my students are very eager to learn despite their home-life issues.
Kids work hard every day to learn something new and to better themselves. Despite difficulties at home, each day is a new day at school!
Rather than "move your feet, lose your seat", how about move your feet, keep your seat? It will be okay to fidget in our room with your help!
"Fair isn't everyone getting the same, fair is everyone getting what they need to be successful!" These wobble stools will allow my students to squirm and fidget without bothering those around them.
Having just 8 of these stools will enable those restless students to reach their full potential.
I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk. With the option of these K'motion wobble stools, students will have the option to make great choices that will enable them to be successful in their work.
