This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are tired of playing with broken shovels, tying to bounce balls that are flat, and big kids taking our play equipment!
I teach early childhood special education in a high poverty district in Illinois.
My half-day, three & four-year-old students have developmental delays, speech and language delays, motor delays, social-emotional delays, behavior and attention delays, adaptive delays, and autism. My students have a wide range of abilities and interests, yet we all work together as a class.
My Project
At one time, our building had plenty of indoor and outdoor play equipment. However, over time, those materials have been broken, lost, or stolen. Unfortunately, we do not have the financial resources to replace all of that equipment! I am requesting playground balls, basketball hoop, ball inflator, play tunnel, and sand tools to enhance our indoor and outdoor active play time. I am also requesting an equipment cart to store our things safely! The cart can be wheeled indoors or outdoors.
These children learn so much through active play, and their young bodies need to stretch, grow, and MOVE!
By donating to this project, you will help our class develop their gross motor skills indoors and outdoors with these awesome pieces of equipment!
