Each day of school I have the privilege to greet 23 eager students with a simple "Good Morning." They enter the building full of energy, stories to share, and curious minds. Soon after the pledge we dig into learning. All third grade classrooms are all self-contained. Each classroom has a very diverse mixture of students. Throughout the day we learn new skills and refresh old skills in all subject areas. The students have a 15 minute recess time, and they have a 45 minute special which includes: music, computer, media, and P.E.
Our school has limited resources but resourceful and compassionate teachers.
Most items used in our classrooms are teacher-made or were found after countless hours of searching the web. We take great pride in our school and expect the bests from our students. Teamwork is a vital part of our success.
My Project
Our students have limited resources on the playground. Playground balls and jump ropes would give them something to do, and it would decrease the behavior issues on the playground. Recess would become much safer for students.
Students often work in small groups.
The clipboards and stools would make group work more mobile, and the students' work would be neater and kept together. The students could form groups anywhere and at anytime in the classroom.
The students are very active and need these resources to keep them engaged throughout the school day. I believe my students' education would benefit from these materials.
