My students need stools that allow them to move around while they are working. Brain research has proven that an active body helps to activate the mind.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A typical day in my classroom is full of activity and movement. Students take charge of their education and work together to complete tasks and increase their knowledge. One of the biggest challenges we face is to continue to create an atmosphere where movement is part of the routine.
My students love to learn and jump at the opportunity to take on a challenge.
After acquiring 10 stools last year the difference in engagement and energy was visibly noticeable. My students come to school early, stay late, and take on a leadership role throughout our school. They push themselves to get better everyday.
My Project
Last year we received a donation of 10 stools and immediately realized the impact they had on learning. Stools were used throughout the day and rotated so that every student had the opportunity to use them. Increasing the number of stools will give more students the opportunity to use them and increase the time spent moving in our room even while working at their seats or stations.
Your donation will allow me to continue my quest to increase my students' motivation, engagement, and movement during learning.
It will increase our ability to stimulate our bodies and our brains and give us more flexibility throughout the day for seating. This is so much more than a seat, it is an opportunity to put our bodies and our brains in motion.
