My students are just embarking on their journey through education. They are eager to learn and find joy in their small but monumental successes. We are in a low income school and my students have challenges inside and outside of the classroom everyday. They face these challenges bravely and we are working hard to create a safe and accepting community within our classroom. First grade is an important step in choosing to be committed to their love of learning. We are forming habits that will carry us through this journey.
My Project
These flexible seating options will give students the opportunity to make responsible choices about their own learning. Our classroom is a place where we work to build a community of helping each other become our best selves. One aspect of becoming our best self is becoming aware of how we learn most effectively.
Each student has their own strengths and my goal is to provide an environment where they can discover those strengths.
Flexible seating can take away some of the obstacles that get in the way of students succeeding in a traditional seating classroom.
Flexible seating has been proven to burn more calories, increase oxygen flow to the brain, and improve posture. It can increase student engagement and motivation.
