My students need a CD player with cassette recorder, a Cricut cutting machine with a tool kit, and various art supplies including 22 watercolor sets, 2 sets of stencils, 5 boxes of washable markers, and 24 bin holders.
The quote: "You're off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so ...get on your way!" by Dr. Seuss, relates to my project because my students need items to help enhance their creativity through art, music and writing.
Our class is full of "AMAZING"," RESPECTFUL", and "TALENTED" first graders who would love having more items for our "ART" center and listening center We enjoy spending our day learning and creating.
My students are full of imagination and are eager to learn. They love to write stories and learn through song and movement. Our school is a Title I school in a high poverty area. Many of my students qualify for free or reduced lunches.
My Project
My students would love the many uses of a Cricut. Oh, the stories we could illustrate. The students love to write. With a Cricut, we could add more imaginative illustrations to our published writing pieces. The art supplies would be a wonderful addition to our art center. The students love to use markers, paint and stencils to expand pictures. The CD/cassette player would be the perfect addition to our listening center. The students would have easier use of songs and books on tape. At the moment, I am using a very slow and quiet computer to play songs for the students. The player will benefit the students tremendously.
My students will be able to create and illustrate stories that they can be thrilled to accomplish.
This project gives my students different ways to express themselves through song, writing, drawing and creating. My students can use items that they may not have access to at home. I want my students to find that special place, move those mountains and get on their way to greatness.
