My Project

4th graders are energetic and curious learners with a variety of diverse needs and learning styles.

I am requesting clipboards, mini flashlights, stools, and mini dry erase boards to help create a classroom that supports movement, independence, and active learning.

Clipboards: These will allow students to move around the room while working. They may choose to use it as an alternative to a desk while working in another part of the room or even use it while participating in a learning game that requires movement around the room. Clipboards support movement and choice in student learning.

Stools: These provide alternative seating options while collaborating with peers or working independently.

Mini Dry Erase Boards: These are a much needed tool for quick assessments of student understanding, and they help to keep students engaged during lessons. Students are able to show their thinking in real time, and it helps to keep learning interactive, all while saving on paper. Additionally, it is so much more fun to write on something besides paper every now and then!

Mini Flashlights: As a departmentalized reading teacher, I am always looking for ways to make reading more fun. My students would love "Flashlight Fridays" when they get uninterrupted time to read in the dark with their flashlight wherever they choose around the room.

All of these tools will help encourage collaboration, creativity, and fun in our classroom. Your support helps give my students an even more student-centered and movement-friendly classroom.
