My students are an eager bunch of kids. They thrive in my classroom when given examples that relate to their assignments. Their willingness to try to understand content that is new and difficult is impressive. Their low confidence, on the other hand, means they need to experience a lot of success before going solo.
My students are hardworking.
They are eager to learn but are caught in the middle of the controversy that surrounds old methods of math and the Common Core expectations for them in mathematics. Our school prides ourselves in excellence in teaching and learning. We work very hard with students and parents to educate and inspire students' greatest potentials.
My Project
The items I have requested will be able to be used for many different classroom endeavors. My students need an iPad, a case to protect it, a stylus to write on the iPad, and an Apple TV to display work with our whiteboard projector. The largest portions of this request revolve around using the iPad to facilitate whole group and small group discussions and practice. Use of the iPad with Apple TV will allow us to work problems together on the board while I maneuver around the room, keeping children on task and checking work as students attempt the problems. I will be out of the students' way when writing examples on the board.
These tools will allow the teacher to do two things at once for students.
In addition to this, I will be able to allow students to work through problems and utilize applications on the projector from their seats because of the Apple TV. Ultimately, these items will give our students more technology access until we can find a means to get technology into each student's hands. The doors that can be opened for my students with these basic tools are exciting. Thank you for your consideration.
