This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Can you imagine coming to school daily being afraid? You are afraid because someone is taking your pencils, crayons, snacks, and/or pushed around by a bully. You are scared to tell an adult. I would like to introduce a positive way for my students to behave with their peers and express themselves.
I have 11 girls and 9 boys in my classroom.
They come from poverty stricken neighborhoods. They come from various cultural and economic backgrounds. This offers a great challenge for myself as well as the students. It also offers a great opportunity for people to work together and learn about others and their way of life. They attend an inner city school that struggles to keep and maintain adequate equipment and supplies.
My Project
The anti-bullying books will allow my classroom help when interacting with others, sharing, making new friends, keeping friends, trust while knowing it is okay to ask for help, and it's okay to show compassion.
The Nook introduces a premier and growing collection of popular children's picture books including beloved classics for the students to enjoy reading. It also will create life-long readers.
The art supplies will help the students discover and express themselves creatively.
Your donations will make a tremendous impact on my students.
It will reduce bullying in our neighborhood and will give my class the opportunity to develop their technological skills to the fullest. If they are given the knowledge to understand the world and the wisdom to change it, then the possibilities for the future are brighter.
