Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are inner city children. They are sweet, thoughtful and passionate. Some of them have very tough home lives. The dropout rate in our district is getting better but still a significant concern that needs to be addressed. They do not have the same opportunities that other students have. The best was to give them those opportunities and help decrease the dropout rate is by increasing their ability to learn from the instruction that is delivered.
My students want to succeed like every other child, but they need YOUR help!

My Project
My students do not live in a safe area, so they do not play when they get home. The only time most of them play outside is for 15 minutes during recess. We do not have any toys for them to play with. We have two fields and a Playscape. Also, our students only have PE one week a month for 40 minutes a day.
Students need to move now more than ever.
We need your help! This project is mainly asking for sports equipment for recess like hula hoops, jump ropes, footballs, playground balls and a few other supplies for inside the classroom.
I am also requesting a few supplies for our classroom. I need chart paper and storage cubes for my library.
