Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students in my classroom make me smile every day. Some of them have to overcome obstacles to get to school and try their best. They enjoy all of the attention they can get and have lots of energy that keeps going.

My students are a very energetic group.

They enjoy learning in different ways. My desire is to use every method possible to help them learn. We have learning centers every day. During this time, they enjoy using their Chromebooks to help reinforce their ELA and math skills. They also love to demonstrate new skills that they learn throughout the day. They keep me moving with their hands-on needs.

My Project

My students keep me moving throughout the day. The classroom environment this year has been a challenge as we still provide a socially-distanced classroom to keep the students safe. My young students have difficulty at times seeing me and some of the lessons I attempt to teach.

The students will have the option to use this mobile desk as a part of our flexible seating options.

Students who like to stand while doing their work will be able to do so with this desk. They can also use it when they make presentations to the class.

I normally like to keep my students moving throughout the school day to keep them active and engaged. Even with this year's challenges, I will be able to keep them engaged in the lessons as they will be able to see me as they use this desk.
