My Students

I teach first grade at an elementary school in Watson, Louisiana. Within my first grade class many students live in a home with one parent, grandparents, aunts, uncles, or are living with a foster family. No matter the socioeconomic status of my students they love learning! They strive to do their best despite the circumstances they come from. My students have a lot of energy! They need to be able to move their active bodies as they process new academic information.

My Project

My students will be able to move their active bodies as they learn. The students will enjoy the freedom of being able to wobble and move around during reading, writing, math, and other classroom activities that are ordinary seditary. This will help improve students concentration which will help to improve learning different subject matter. Students that are engaged in learning learn and retain more. My students will greatly appreciate the comfort from the wobble stools as well as the movement they provide. Students with learning disabilities will benefit as well as those students without. It’s a win win for both students and teachers!
