My Students

First grade is the year of growth and independence. I love seeing the progress that my first graders make throughout the school year. Nonreaders becoming readers. Scribblers becoming authors and illustrators. There are even some shoe tying experts by the end of the year!

My students come from a variety of backgrounds with very different experiences.

I also want to provide them with different seating options to meet all their different needs such as beanbags, seat spots, and pillows.

My Project

My students come to school from different backgrounds with different experiences. However, they all come to school with one thing in common...energy! It is very difficult for students to sit in a chair all day expected to perform their best. They need to move around the room, wiggle and find a safe space where they can work their best. I want to give my students those choices! I am asking for beanbags, soft seat spots and big pillows for alternative seat choices. With your help, I can give them options beyond a chair and a desk. Let’s get them moving!
