Help me give my students flexible seating options to meet their needs as learners. Wiggle cushions and bouncy bands will enable my active students to focus in on their studies and stay engaged in our lessons.
I teach in a school district with true diversity. We have students from all racial, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Some of our students face greater challenges than others. Staying focused in class can be a real challenge if you have trouble sitting still, and can't help it!
Help us keep our students active and engaged.
We have a number of students who have individual education plans and special needs that require minimal distraction and preferential seating. What if preferential seating meant an experience rather than a location?
I plan on bringing in wiggle seats and bouncy bands to keep my students active, but seated during class, Some students just need to move. These devices will allow them to remain seated, but moving and address their kinetic, as well as their learning needs.
My Project
This project will help some of my learners have better focus in class by allowing them the opportunity for movement. The Wiggle Cushions and Bouncy Bands will enable kinetic movement without leaving the desk.
Some students are movers and shakers!
And that is just fine by me. Supporting these students' kinetic needs through these flexible seating options will enable me to provide a more focused and effective learning experience for each student.
The project will make a difference because so much of the school environment is static - un-moving. Students enter school with so much energy for learning and life. If we can harness this energy, we can move their educations forward.
