My students need flexible seating like stools, busy bands, and surf laptop desks so they can move and concentrate while they learn. They also need expo markers and supplies as well as cubbies to get organized!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our classroom is run like a family. No one student is singled out and we all help each other. We have regular education and special education students blended into one melting pot. The beauty of our classroom family is, all of our students learn together, work together, and play together. They form strong bonds of friendship, kindness, compassion, and respect all while learning.
George Evans said, “Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or the same way.” This is especially true for my sweet babies.
Be it regular education or special education students, most need a little extra to help them on the way to success.
My students come from a high poverty area; however, you couldn't guess that from their motivation and excitement to learn. We just have to find a way to channel this excitement and eagerness into productive learning. That's where your donations come into play!
My Project
My students really benefit from flexible seating. The busy bands, stools, and laptop surf desks will allow them to move around while still working and allow them to get out their energy in a positive way. They also need supplies like dry erase markers, sentence strips, and manila folders to allow them to be creative and do hands-on activities. We will be making lap desks and personalized test folders with some of these supplies and creating paragraphs and math drawings with the dry erase markers. Most of all these students thrive on a schedule and organization. The cubbies, cube boxes, and labels will really help with the organization effort.
