I teach at a Title I school in North Carolina where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students and I create a classroom space that is welcoming, challenging, and a place where ideas are analyzed on a daily basis.
Many of my students receive backpack food on the weekends, and our school also runs a food pantry for our families.
Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
They are what make my job the most challenging and fulfilling thing I have ever attempted. I strive to make learning engaging, fun, and relevant for my students, who in turn, have pushed me to be a better teacher, a better citizen, and a better person. The students, teachers, and administration at my school are committed to learning, despite the many challenges we face due to funding and other inequalities in our system.
My students this year are very busy bodies! They are active, energetic, and ready to learn! These wiggle seats will help keep my students focused and engaged while working. They will be able to use their wiggle chairs all around the classroom!
Your donation helps increase and improve my students attention and focus and by donating, you are helping increase their academic achievement and help close the gaps that they have.
I believe that children need to have brain breaks while they working by themselves, with a partner, or in whole group. These chairs will allow them to be able to work for longer periods of time without getting distracted as they are able to bounce or wiggle in their seats.
