You know how hard you work to make a good impression. My students work hard at their music - during class, in after school rehearsal, practicing at home - but they don't always make their best impression because they have old, worn out equipment.
Our Marching Band is comprised of students from around our city.
They are as diverse as they are harmonious! I am inspired by their dedication - they give up several weeks of their summer to learn new songs and routines so they can put their best notes forward for every football game, parade and performance. They accept the challenging music I put before them; in the 3 years I've been with them, they have improved their skills and have come to see themselves as musicians, not just band kids. They are a team and proudly represent our school not only at athletic events but at parades, competitions and concerts both at school and around the city.
After football season is over, students concentrate on their various concert bands including wind ensemble and jazz band. We perform both at school and other venues. We just returned from our nation's capital, where we performed at the World War II Memorial. We've also performed in the Disney World Main Street Parade and on Chicago's Navy Pier.
My Project
The trombone mouthpieces will allow the trombones to obtain a deeper and richer sound. These mouthpieces will help the whole band get a more richer sound. The volumetric exerciser will allow students to develop better lung capacity. Students will be able to exercise their lungs to help them take more air which will help improve their sound. The drum heads will be used to replace the old ones that we currently have which are old and will not hold the proper pitch.
The goal for our band it to improve in all aspects.
This equipment will continue to allow the students to develop and develop the professional sound that they are striving for. Your support is greatly appreciated.
