My Project

After the success of our first year with our music program, we are looking to expand our music course offerings to include traditional concert bands in addition to modern bands and choirs. The students are excited to learn more about music and expand their repertoire of musical skills. Due to factors including the high cost of such programs, this is the first time in over 30 years that Pahoa has been able to offer band classes.

Traditionally, families are asked to provide personal items such as mouthpieces out of their pocket, but this is impossible for PHIS families.

Brass mouthpieces can cost upwards of $60 per mouthpiece, which is the difference between being able to eat dinner or going hungry for our families. By acquiring a healthy supply of brass mouthpieces, we will be able to take this financial burden off of our families through a mouthpiece-loaning system. Please help us make music of all genres accessible to these excellent, deserving students.
