This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach band and my students love coming to class for the music. They love marching band, which involves traveling, football games, contests and rehearsals.

The students I teach are the kids in the developing band class.

The class is made up of students who are younger and require more development in their tone, technique and musicianship skills.

These students have found a "home" in our band program. It is a source of pride and accomplishment for many of them that will carry on through their entire high school experience. These students also help train and lead the incoming students at our feeder middle school band programs to be future West Mesquite Band students.

My Project

These mouthpieces will help our students who use them to sound consistent and professional. These mouthpieces are being used by other students in other school districts and are on par with the excellence that we teach and expect from our students.

These mouthpieces will help the younger, more developing students sound better so that they may progress through the band program quicker and more effectively.

Our band staff teaches the students to take care of their equipment so that it lasts and can be used again. We have found that these mouthpieces are the most high quality and cost efficient product for high school kids.
