Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are some of the best Colorado has to offer! The Bears are a close knit community of scholars from an urban-suburban area just outside of Denver. Our multi-grade environment in a small building makes us really feel like a family. Bears look out for each other!
More than half of my scholars are Spanish speakers and many come from low-income families.
As such all of our school qualifies for free and reduced lunch. In order to achieve our dreams and recognize our potential, we might need some help along the way. That's where donors like you come in!
My Project
This trip will help many of my students, who are used to an urban/suburban environment, get out into a more rural, natural setting that many of them have never been exposed to before. At Snow Mountain Ranch, kids will engage in outdoor team building activities like ropes courses, orienteering, craft making, and hiking.
This trip is important not only for students to gain survival skills and learn to explore the great outdoors, and build friendships that last for life along the way.
You can be sure that out students will never forget the impact that this trip will have on them.
