My students are so excited because of the new " Next Generation Science Standards (N.G.S.S.) ! They are designed to prepare our students for a S.T.E.A.M.(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) career. These standards introduce coding, robotics, atoms and molecules, just to name a few. However, my school needs supplies to teach these lessons.
My students come from low income, socioeconomic homes, but that only makes them stronger and determined to thrive and become successful in the 21 Century.
These students are bright and eager to learn.
My students light up and become engaged in the lessons when they get to come up with original ideas to create something new.
It is so exciting to see students communicate with each other, build on each others ideas, and learn to build and design a variety of models useful for the future.
Lego Simple and Powered Machine sets contain a brick assortment for exploring design engineering with more advanced mechanisms, structures and forces.
By donating to this project it will not only help my students cement their learning for the 21st Century, it will promote the fundamental STEAM understanding of simple and powered machines, structures and mechanisms.
Lego kits are curriculum pack and provide lessons, extension activities, problem solving tasks, as well as teacher guides and student worksheets. They are the perfect answer to opening up my students minds and thinking in the NGSS and STEAM. These lessons will bring out creativity, meaning, and understanding for my students.
