The learners in my school come from a wide variety of backgrounds and needs. My class has a large number of students with disabilities and special needs, including ESL, speech, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. These students, along with our regular education students who perform at or above grade level, create a unique learning environment.
Studies show that quality early childhood programming provides children with a great start to their school career.
Our goal is to provide a place to be creative and curious while also learning to be great people!
My Project
The gymnastics mat and bosu ball are the key pieces we need to start implementing motor lab activities in our classroom. With help from our school occupational and physical therapists, we are planning to begin incorporating motor lab every day.
The root system in our bodies needs to be developed in order for our school and life success - feed the roots, not the leaves!
These activities will create a dynamic environment where young learners will develop foundational readiness for school success! What better place to incorporate these movements than in our pre-K classroom. We will set the foundation for reading and writing!
