Help me give my students a Qball speaker that can be easily tossed throughout the classroom during collaboration to amplify even the smallest of student's voices.
Wow. Trying to sum my students up into a few paragraphs is challenging, but I'll stick to the basics! I have a fun loving group of 23 students with a WIDE range of interest and abilities. Although they are such independent little humans, they amaze me every single day with their ability to collaborate when given any opportunity.
This group is charismatic, strong-willed, and a ton of fun.
While it can be difficult for us all to balance so many strong personalities in one room, I truly would not have it any other way. I am so proud that each of them feel so empowered to use their voice. I come to school every single day filled with a purpose and fueled by their love for me and one another.
My Project
I want to give my students a voice that can be heard. The Qball speaker can be easily tossed throughout the classroom during collaboration. Collaboration is a HUGE part of learning within my classroom. Students are challenged to share their thinking and ask questions in all subject areas. This device is the perfect fit for my active and vocal group. Their thoughts and ideas are there and with a little amplification, their volume will be too!
I could think of a million things to do in my classroom in ALL content areas with this speaker!
One specific idea that comes to mind is the idea of utilizing the Qball during morning meeting to speak our truths when sharing thoughts, ideas, and concerns during our team bonding session each morning!
Another wonderful use of the Qball would be during review games when preparing for assessments. Standardized tests are probably the least fun thing for students about school. This tool would allow my students to remain engaged and to bring some fun to test preparation.
