My Students
My students are energetic, eager young people who attend a high school in a high poverty area of our city. They take pride in themselves, their neighborhood and their culture, and love to learn about other people and cultures as well.
Many of my students are on their way to becoming the first in their families to obtain a high school diploma, so they are taking the necessary steps to achieve college readiness.
Some of their goals include passing the state reading assessment, improving their GPAs, and joining extracurricular activities that will help them improve their resumes.
My Project
Senior year is tough, requiring lots of time and dedication on the road to graduation, so I like to help keep my students encouraged to stay the course and keep up the good work.
A treasure box filled with chocolate coins and other trinkets will help motivate my students on a daily basis and remind them that while they have serious goals that they’re trying to accomplish, they can take time out to appreciate the little things.
With the camera, they can preserve the positive memories they’ve created and have a memento of how far they’ve come on their journey to graduation.
