My Students
Our school has an incredibly diverse population of students who come from mid and lower socioeconomic backgrounds.
I am the only science teacher at the school for 600 students in grades one through six.
First to fourth graders come to science once a week while fifth and sixth graders come to science twice a week. We learn mostly by hands-on activities to support their multiple learning styles. They are motivated and eager to learn if I incorporate hands on experiments.
My Project
My students get extremely motivated when they use hands-on materials to learn science. It gives them practical and real life experiences that goes well with my teachings.
Students' curiosity increases when they use senses of touch, feel, see and hear to explore.
Hands-on manipulatives motivates their learning tremendously.
The requested Periodic Table Cards will let them learn element's properties in a fun and educational way. Sixth graders need air pressure pump to launch their hand made soda bottle rockets. Fifth graders can use motivational magnetic tools to learn about magnetism. Owl Palate Poster and DVD of "All That Remains" are really helpful for my fourth graders to learn Owl's Regurgitaion lesson.
