My Students

Do you have books you just enjoy reading--nothing to brag to an English teacher about--but enjoyable nonetheless? My students need books other than the classics to get them motivated to read for enjoyment.

My students are mainly boys who would rather do anything but read a book.

We live in a fairly rural community, where outdoor sports like four-wheeling, hunting, and fishing are more popular than reading. However, these students do have dreams of going to college or technical school but honestly lack the reading ability to get through their academic classes.

My Project

John Grisham's books have captivated readers of all ages and inspired successful movie versions as well. My students need an exciting book to show them how wonderful reading is--and how the book is better than the movie! I am requesting a class set of John Grisham's "The Client" to help jump start my less-than-motivated readers to finish a book (and hopefully pick up another!).

John Grisham is a well-loved author, with numerous books that are best-sellers.

I am hoping to inspire a new generation of readers with these captivating, suspenseful books. Having a class set of the novel "The Client" will help my students find a book and perhaps an author that they can enjoy!
