This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My 2nd grade students are amazing! They are curious and enjoy learning. Many of my students struggle academically and don't have the resources at home to help improve their Reading and Math skills. Despite their academic challenges, they are still excited, motivated, and enthusiastic about learning. They enjoy hands-on engaging activities during our Reading and Math blocks. Some of the activities include learning basic Math facts and Reading Vocabulary to increase Reading Comprehension. These activities keep them engaged in learning which will support their academic growth.
My Project
Technology is a very important component during Reading and Math rotations. It is necessary that each student has their own set of headphones. The headphones will be used for the computers while the students work on grade level Reading and Math website assignments essential to improving their Reading and Math skills. The Reading and Math games will give students the opportunity to be engaged, think critically, and problem solve in cooperative groups. The pencils, glue, and multi color copy paper will help the students create hands on class assignments and projects. These essential school supplies will support my students as they work towards meeting their academic goals in Reading and Math.
