Motivated by Magnetics

Help me give my students Magnetic lined white boards. We will use these a few times everyday. I am hoping to also get enough magnetic letters so that each child can have their own set from A-Z.

My Students

Ms. Messerli's class consists of 20 diverse Kindergartners. Even though they come from different social and educational backgrounds, they all are always creative, thoughtful, and full of questions!

My kids are like little sponges ready to soak up new knowledge each day.

They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!

My kids mean the world to me! I spend countless hours trying to ensure I have the best materials and activities possible for them to succeed. However, I do need assistance in getting more materials for our classroom to enhance the learning experience for them.

My Project

The whiteboards that I listed are both magnetic and lined for new writers. Throughout the day we meet at the carpet and practice writing letters and words. The great part about these boards is the magnetic factor. This will allow the boards to be used in different ways. The children will each have their own set of magnetic letters to manipulate on their boards.

The letters I have chosen are shaped with basic circles and lines, like the manuscript letters that we learn in class.

The children will be able to trace the letters with their fingers to remember the shape that each letter looks like. So many children need to see and touch manipulatives as part of their learning process.

Education is changing every single day. We are in a time where Covid protocols are in place. The children can not share items, so they each will need their own set. Students in my classroom like to be engaged in hands-on learning. The manipulation of the letters will help with fine motor skills, letter recognition, and word building. Most importantly it will be fun and keep the children wanting more!

I truly need your support to make this a reality. So many standards will be covered with the use of these materials. Standards in reading, writing and Phonemic Awareness: LK1, LK1A, LK2C, LK2D, RFK1, RFK2, RFK3.
