Help me give my students a book that they can read that references so many of the challenges they face. And shows them that if they make the choice they can overcome adversity and reach their goals.
My students are nothing short of miracles we all can watch happen. They are brilliant young and diverse people who just haven't been giving the proper platforms to succeed. They come from all back grounds and deal with real world obstacles that often break your strongest individuals down. Instead of settling for the labels that have been placed on so many of them from birth and a young age. They have choosing to take challenges that do not sit well with many of the negative anchors of there everyday lives that want to bring them down.
My school is located in a poverty stricken district were hope is often destroyed by drugs, poverty, abuse and gangs that grab hold of my students or their family members and pull them into a insurmountable hole of life long challenges.
The kids of my ROTC program are no different then any other great success stories . They just need that person to stand up and say I am here for you and we can accomplish anything. We strive to be them people in their lives and with you help can quite possibly
My Project
I teach a ROTC class that is designed to specifically motivate and help the youth in my community to reach goals of the highest expectations. We are a leadership laboratory that helps develop the minds of our students to be of the Ut-most respectful and goal oriented students possible. This book is a relatable book that co-incises with the background and up bringing of a majority of my students. This inspiration could quite possibly develop and identify a role model and example that these students can for ever look up to. During the times of distant learning we need to find ways to gain the interests of our students.
