Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are inquisitive, funny, creative and "over the top" at times. They are part of the Academically and Intellectually Gifted or Leading Instruction and Fostering Talent programs in a North Carolina Title I school.

They are the cream of the crop, the creme de la creme, and, of course, the best of the best, in my opinion.

At times, they face considerable challenges, but they are determined to push themselves to be better students and citizens. I am extremely proud to be their teacher.

My Project

During this time, my students are focused on e-learning. My goal is to provide them with "hands-on" materials that will keep them motivated and eager to learn at home. With so many challenges facing them during this pandemic, I want them to enjoy learning again!

Providing growth mindset journals and board games will, not only, allow them to make sense of what's happening in the world around them, but permit them to include their family members in fun educational activities.

Please help me help my students be successful learners! Thank you!
