My students need positive reinforcement to grow both academically and emotionally as learners, as well as opportunities to set and work towards goals in our classroom school store.
My fourth graders are a diverse group of students. I have several special education students, as well as general education students. Some are working below grade level, some are working on grade level, and some are above grade level learners. No matter what level they are, they should all feel confident and excited and important every day.
My classroom is a place that is welcoming, where my students' imaginations grow wild and they are encouraged to reach their fullest potential on a daily basis.
My students need to be challenged, inspired and engaged in order to learn and make sense of the world around them. I work in a large district that serves a diverse population. Your donation to this Snap circuit project will allow my students to explore firsthand how energy converts from one form to another along with many other principles of electricity.
As students enter my classroom, I want them to feel that they are in a fun, safe place to learn and to be able to take risks and feel empowered.
My Project
Every day in my classroom is a new day for students to make positive choices that will help them grow as learners. They have the chance to earn “classroom money” for all of the positive choices they make throughout the school day. They can then use the “classroom money”to purchase Smencils, Squishies, Emoji pencil toppers and even a sweet treat of Airheads( a peanut-free choice).
My students learn to save their money and work towards long term goals to shop in the classroom store for items that truly motivate them while they learn to manage their own behavior in meaningful ways
The store gives students a chance to use real math skills such as multiplication for different quantities and helps build fluency in adding and acting out word problems. It helps them to see logical connections and consequences helping them grow as learners. All of the items will not only increase positive behaviors and choices daily but will help the students improve fluency in financial literacy.
