The “Rhode Scholar Tigers” are highly charged and have zest and talent to excel in all areas of academia. These gifted and talented scholars thrive on learning, doing, and excelling. Five days a week these scholars participate in tutoring and extra curricula studies. These proud and very happy scholars choose to learn despite the fact that the odds are stacked high against them. Many people describe these scholars as being at-risk, poor, down trotting, and under achievers. However, our school believe when given a change and helping each child to set goals success is obtainable.
Our scholars are showing huge gains on state standard test and are raising the bar for affluent schools.
Our parents trust and love our school and support our teaching curriculum. Parents strongly rely on the school for educational, social and emotional advice. These smart and talented scholars who reside in a community that is below the poverty line and crime ridden come to school rain or shine. These young scholars are driven to complete their education and excel in life.
Resources for this project will allow my students to pushing themselves towards greatest as they read the positive affirmation written on their test shirts. Students will have a sense of pride as they recognize that their academic talents will support them as they complete their end of the year tests. The shirt will act as their comfort blanket as they feel lifted and supported to use their brain power and memory recall to score high marks and complete their test questions.
The self-esteem of my at-risk students will heighten as they are overjoyed to have the school support through providing a non-academic reminder that they have academic greatness and can achieve high scores on the test.
Students will feel supported by their peers as all students in the classroom will look identical and will have the same focus of passing the test. Lastly, students will feel comfortable in their shirts as they transfer their classroom learning into completing their end-of-the year assessment tests.
Conclusively, students will put more effort into excelling and scoring high marks because they feel supported by their school family. Nervousness will vanish as each student feel comforted and uplifted by wearing their “power” test shirt. Students focus will be to push, do more and excel on the test.
