My rural students are excited to learn about places and artists from across the world. They enjoying looking at and discussing diverse artworks. From these artworks, they learn techniques to try.
Students come into the art room excited to make their ideas come alive.
Our room functions as an art studio, filled with centers that they can visit. Drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and clay are available for my students to use as they work self-directed on what they care about most.
Art studios typically have stools so artists sit up straight while focusing.
We have 7 of these wobble stools currently and the students love them!
The rest of our current chairs are typical classroom chairs that don't allow my students to sit up and focus as well. The wobble stools also have the added benefit of allowing gentle movement. The students would love to have enough stools for everyone.
Another benefit of switching to only stools in the artroom will be the ease of cleaning at the end of class. Stools can be easily lifted and moved around the room.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
