Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at RMS are a diverse group of individuals that represent the Titans with pride. They are often excited and precocious young people that are striving for betterment of themselves and their families. By dedicating their days to scholastic achievement, they are improving not only in academia but in life skills. Our school is filled with students that are showing their teachers that, yes, "they can" on a daily basis. By representing themselves, their community, and our school, they are what makes RMS so awesome.
My Project
Cardio drumming is a creative collaboration of exercise and drumming. Our students will get an opportunity to move, exercise, and learn about rhythm with the use of yoga balls that are used as a quiet and soft drum in addition to alternative seating that promote core stability. Currently, we do not have enough mallets or Boomwhackers to utilize in this activity. We will be able to add to the excitement with the use of keyboard instruments that need these mallets.
The goal we are aiming for, is to inspire physical activity and creative interest in music.
