We live in a rural area and 17 out of 18 of my students qualify for free or reduced lunches and are from low income and poverty households.
My students attend a VPI Pre School program for at-risk students in a public school and criteria to attend includes living in a low income household.
Our is also a school-wide Title I. There learning styles vary from student to student.
Our families come from low-income poverty households and one parent homes. Some even reside with their grandparents or are living with non biological families and considered homeless.
These kids are crazy for learning! These students are diverse learners and are eager to participate in engaging educational exciting learning activities. Their families cannot afford to have many relevant educational materials at home to support their child's learning. We need to provide the materials and instruction for them!
My Project
Research shows that kids learn best by hands on experiences. Science is everywhere around us! We do not have these kinds of hands on manipulative materials in our classroom. We need science materials to use in our science center that the kids can see, touch, feel, and use for their learning!
My students need relevant and age appropriate science materials like a Magnet Kit, a Motion Kit, and a Science View Master set to use in our Science Center!
If you help fund this project you will be helping to provide these preschool kids the hands on learning materials they need to hold, touch, and explore the science world around them!
