My students need engaging materials such as ABC and 123 Wikki Stix, Lincoln Logs, Playmags, Mr. Potato Head, and Tinkertoys that will get them excited to come to school every morning.
My students are very bright and eager to learn. In the classroom, we have 4- and 5-year-olds. For many of them, this is their first time socializing, learning, and growing in their language skills. We have English language learners in our classroom, and this is some of our children's first experience socializing and learning in this type of environment.
Pre-K students are curious about the world around them, enjoy interacting with their peers, and love learning through play!
My students' day is filled with learning new academic content through play, and it is often easy to help the children learn through creating, interacting, and playing together. Morning tubs will give my children the opportunity to do just that!
My Project
Pre-Kers typically enter their classroom each morning happy and excited to be at school. They are enthusiastic and active about their day ahead of them, and they are eager to connect with their friends. Pre-K does not allow for the traditional routine of completing worksheets each morning, so we need materials that allow children to interact socially with their peers in constructive and engaging ways.
By implementing "Morning Tubs" instead of worksheets I hope to make our morning work more engaging and fun for all my students!
When my students enter the classroom each morning, they will have the opportunity to use materials such as Lincoln Logs, Legos, Tinkertoys, learning puzzles, Wikki Stix, and more to explore and create with their classmates. This morning tub routine will help give my Pre-Kers daily opportunities to be creative, practice engaging in different social situations, collaborating and problem solving while playing.
