Help me give my students materials for morning tubs that would allow for collaboration, social interactions, team building experiences and a pleasant way to start each day.
My students are from various backgrounds and levels of learning. Some students have been in daycare or preschool and for others it's their first time being in school. Some students spend hours coloring and others have never even held a pencil. This year my class will be comprised of 18-20 students, some of which English will be a second language for them.
Despite all of our different backgrounds and experiences, my students are creative, caring, inquisitive, and eager to learn.
I would like to start the day off with morning tubs. Starting the day with play based learning just seems so developmentally perfect to me and I know my students will love it!
My Project
Mornings should begin with routines. What better way then to start off with community building, learning how to work together, and hands on activities. I am looking for materials that I can put on tables each morning that the students can work on for the first 15 minutes together in small groups independently while I handle all of the morning housekeeping that goes along with starting our day. These materials promote building, problem solving, and cooperation. Morning tubs are a great way to get the children focused and ready to learn using play and teamwork. Additionally, I hope starting the morning with some problem solving and hands on activities will engage the students from the start of the day and get them ready to learn from the start.
