My Students

My students come from a largely military community and are used to transitioning from school to school. They are generally motivated to learn and become better students. My students are caring and kind to each other and enjoy learning, especially in science. I am so proud of how hard my students work and how well they have learned to adapt, as they come from families who often make transitions. These students are well-rounded learners and they need some additional tools to help them learn!

My Project

Each morning my class starts out with a Morning Meeting to bring us together as a group. This gives us the opportunity to start out the day on a positive note and connect with each other as classmates and teacher. We share a greeting, sharing time, game and read our morning message together. We currently meet in a circle around a worn-out rug that never stays in place and becomes a mess throughout the day. We are looking for a new carpet that will stay in place and give us a positive and cheerful space to have our Morning Meeting.
