I have the privilege of working with curious 5th grade leaders and thinkers on a daily basis. These students want to flourish in their academics but are looking for more resources. This school is a Title l school in a rural community. Our students are inspired to make a difference in their community.
These students work hard and try their best.
These students are on their way to greatness. My goal, as their teacher, is to provide them with opportunities to further their learning. I am constantly searching for tools and strategies to continue to motivate students to WANT to learn.
My Project
Students arrive to school in many different moods, either tired from waking up early for school, anxious not knowing what the day will bring, or excited knowing there will be some choice given to them throughout the day. These materials will provide students a creative choice first thing when they get to school, motivating them to want to come to school each day.
These materials will give students some opportunities to engineer, create, and use their logic as their brains begin to warm up for another day of learning.
Through activities like this where students can have choice and be creative, students are motivated to be at school on time.
