Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember how exciting it was to write with a pen and not just a pencil? I want my students to start getting ready to write in pen for their final drafts or publishing copies of their writing prompts.
The second grade students in my class attend a Title 1 school.
100% of my students receive free lunch. With so many budget cuts, resources are scarce or simply non-existent and the near future remains bleak. The school they attend is in a low socioeconomic neighborhood and resources at home are also bleak.
My Project
These resources will hopefully encourage my students to become better writers and write more frequently. I'm sure the colored pens will motivate them to write and the various notebooks, daily journals, and flip books will also help them improve their writing skills. These materials will be used as whole class lessons, with the class projector, and some will be used during their Independent Work Time (IWT).
The resources I am requesting are ones that would be quite difficult to get with the district; however they are resources that would motivate my students to write more often and also help improve their writing skills.
