Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Russia, the Ukraine, Jordan, Mexico, the Phillipines...this is the wonderful mix of students that make up the third grade at our school! On any given day, you can walk into one of our third grade classrooms and hear laughter and sheer joy for learning. Our working class neighborhood doesn't offer much in the way of experiencing life outside of the four walls of school though: this is where YOU come in!

Our students have an infectious zest for life and learning, and soak up all of the knowledge and EXPERIENCES that we can give them!

My Project

Our students only ever see the small neighborhood of our greater city- help us impact them by showing them how much of an influence Chicago's downtown area has been on culture, art, and architecture. Our students will be taking a double decker bus tour of downtown Chicago, to explore art and architecture and its' influence on the rest of the world.

In keeping with our third grade Social Studies unit, "History of Chicago", we plan to make the past come to life for our students, to keep them engaged and wanting to learn even more about our city!
