This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a wonderful group of students who are always excited about responsibility and learning. My students love to describe and talk about what we are doing in our classroom.
Our school is preparing our students to become lifelong learners.
These first years are important years of learning and growing into lifelong learners. We are building the foundation of learning for the students to use in and out the classroom. Our school is a great community of families, educators and professionals. In our school 35% of the students qualify for Special Education.
My Project
Having access to multiple tablets in the classroom will allow students to practice skills such as letter recognition, sounds recognition, reading books online, listening to stories, responding to questions and critical thinking to strengthen comprehension. In math, practicing number recognition, counting, problem-solving math stories, and measurement just to name a few. I believe that it is imperative that my Kindergartners have access to useful technology daily. This technology can help students engage in every area in our classroom.
The use of these wonderful tablets will help with my small group instruction and data collection.
In a large room of 20 energetic students, it can be difficult to reach each individual student's needs on a daily basis. I am excited to have the opportunity for more one-on-one time!
