My kindergarten students come to school with incredible enthusiasm for learning and they love to be engaged in hands-on activities. They come from a variety of backgrounds and, for some, it is their first school experience.
I teach at an International Baccalaureate Primary Years school with approximately 800 students in Pre-K through 5th grade.
Our curriculum focuses on student inquiry-based learning with a global perspective. Under my care is a group of wildly curious kindergarteners who are eager to learn and have fun.
My Project
My kindergarten students have come so far since the beginning of the school year! We do a lot of hands-on learning but we need to expand our game options.
I have selected a wonderful variety of games that focus on skills ranging from number and letter recognition to basic number operations and reading.
My students will enjoy the challenge of forming words with the Roll and Write Word game and will have fun building sight word towers as they practice word recognition. The addition and subtraction games will provide practice with these new skills while the number puzzle will engage students in counting with vibrant photographs. There is even an allowance game that teaches the value of money and uses addition and subtraction in the form of earning and spending money!
Beyond academic skills, these games will allow my students to practice taking turns while working on essential social skills. These resources will be a perfect fit for my young learners!
