Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative, intelligent, and caring young people. They love to read and work on technology.
These students are eager to come to the library media center to check out books, audio-books and other items.
My students come from various backgrounds with a majority of them receiving government assistance. They come to the library media center to obtain materials that are not available to them in their homes. Yet, their hopes are still alive for a bright future thanks to your generous donation.
My Project
Jacqueline Kennedy once said, “There are many little ways to enlarge your child's world. Love of books is the best of all.” In today's library, access to learning and books comes in paper and digital form. Our library media center is in need of one all in one computer and scanner to be used by our students in order to find out more about their favorite books and authors. We use a database called teachingbooks.net that provides wonderful supplemental resources for books and author studies. In order to access information assigned by teachers, QR codes are created. Those students that do not have a phone will not benefit from these resources. It is my hope to create a TEACHINGBOOKS.NET work station in the media center so that everyone will have access to these wonderful supplemental materials such as author interviews, book talks, and more.
With your generosity, my students will have access to the media that they need in order to be successful in school and continue their journey towards becoming life-long readers and learners.
Please consider the powerful effect your donation will have on our entire school community of over 1,500 students and their parents.
