I teach English to middle and high school students at an alternative school in upstate New York. Our area was home to many corporations and small businesses, but as the economy has shifted, so has this area. The goal of our alternative school setting is to encourage our students to become future entrepreneurs in the hopes that they will give back to the area they grew up in.
I am always looking for ways to engage and motivate my students when starting, working through, and completing a new project.
They respond well to real-world and hands-on experiences, so I always try to find those opportunities for them. Please consider supporting these students in their next learning adventure!
My Project
Tea Club has been off to an amazing and enthusiastic start this school year! My students love having an opportunity each week to relax and socialize before school. It puts everyone, students and staff, in a great mood for the day!
We have realized we need cleaning supplies in addition to more tea and snack options to make Tea Club function even better!
Students have noted a need for things like a small garbage can and paper towels so that they can help to clean up any messes that occur while enjoying tea and snacks before school. They also will benefit from more tea and snack options so that all can feel welcome and accommodated at Tea Club!
