My students need android tablets to support their independent learning goals.

I teach at an inner city school in St. Louis where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. The school provides the bare minimum supplies. Teachers and great donors like you provide the rest of what my students need to be successful.
My kiddos come to school every day happy to be there and ready to learn!
They are funny, honest, caring, and smart! While I have students who are reluctant to try, I also have students that are driven to excel. Students entering my classroom are challenged to be the best version of themselves. Sure we have off days but we truly are working to build world citizens that are smart, kind, and capable. In our classroom community, we all help each other succeed. I am forever grateful for the students that I have been chosen to help grow, and the parents that collaborate with me.
My students will use these tablets everyday... and I mean everyday! I already purchased several for the classroom and have had donors like you fund several more. The district is recently adopted curriculum that relies heavily on the use of technology, but has not provided any resources to use the tech pieces of the curriculum.
Having tablets for most of the students in the room will allow me to pull students for one on one and small group instruction, while I know other students are actively engaged in lessons that I have specifically picked for them.
Students will utilize tablets for our math program, utilizing Mobymax and Front Row (now called Freckle) for both math and science enrichment. We can learn how to code. I can assign Discovery Education videos, Digital Read Works Articles, and students can begin to learn about research. Students will also use these devices for reading with Raz Kids, Reading Street, and Spelling City. We already use what we have, but having a one to one classroom will make it easier for everyone to work at their own pace and skill level.
My students love working with our class Dash and Dot robots. Currently they would only be able to work on them if we're using them for science. With more tablets available, my early finishers will be able to use their tablet and go work with Dot and Dash when they have a little extra time. I know that having that option available will encourage some of my children to really work hard to finish so they get a chance to program!
