Ms. Pagtakhan from Union City CA is requesting Reading Nooks, Desks & Storage through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students two more new tables to work on! My original tables are getting a little outdated. They squeak, they wobble, and they're starting to tilt but your contribution for two new tables will help!
Collaboration, time management, intensive research, critical thinking, and creativity are a few skills the students hone into. This is on top of the historical, reading and writing standards they must fulfill in the classroom. Outside, students are involved in clubs, sports, or just focused on trying to get through middle school. The students in our school come from different ethnic, cultural, familial and class backgrounds, but if there is one goal that unites them it is that they are readying for the next chapter of their lives: high school.
"Isang bagsak!" or "One Down" is a Tagalog saying used by the Filipino people during the People Power movement.
We operate under this motto knowing that we are one day closer to our goal. Whether it is completing high school, going to college, or wanting to play professionally, we are always one day closer when we work hard and work together. This saying is built into the foundation of our class community and with your help, every donation you make helps us reach our goal and when we do succeed, we are always onto the next goal. Isang bagsak!
With shared tables, students learn how to share and respect space with others. Students feel more inclined to support their peers in sharing materials or ideas. Obtaining these two long tables will help continue our class mission to encourage collaboration between students in their PBL work, creative mindset, and academic conversation.
We currently have a few outdated tables that squeak and wobble.
Your contribution will limit these tiny distractions when we assess and work or read quietly. This is round two of my class mission to replace all tables. In my DonorsChoose project in August 2019, family and friends contributed to get these table renovations started! This month, I am reaching out to parents of my current eighth grade students to help us invest in a collaborative and focused environment.
You donate directly to the teacher or project you care about and see where every dollar you give goes.
