Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember being in class and being too hungry to concentrate? Every afternoon, my first graders request snacks.
I currently teach 27 very sweet first graders in a Title I school located in a high poverty and high crime area in Pennsylvania.
All of my students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Many of my students come from homes where English is not spoken.
My Project
I would love to provide my six and seven year old students with a healthy snack such as crackers, granola bars or goldfish crackers every afternoon. My students eat lunch at 11:15 and by 1:30 in the afternoon they tend to get hungry.
These snacks would allow my students to stay more focused on their studies.
Please help provide my first graders with healthy snacks in order to keep them well nourished and attentive.
