Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from truly diverse cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds. Each child has their own learning process and it is my job to support each of them by providing the tools they need to be successful in school. A large portion of my students have special learning needs. Despite the challenges that they face daily in and outside of school, my students love to learn new things and energetically seek new learning opportunities.
We are a Title I school and many of my students rely solely on myself and their other instructors to create new learning experiences for them.
As their teacher, I hope to provide the best learning opportunities possible so that they can exceed their potential.
My Project
The items included in my project were specifically selected to ensure that each of my students is provided with the tools they need to do their best learning. The Kid Carpet with Block Seating will provide each student with a clearly marked space that will be their own to help alleviate distractions. The four WOBBLE chairs offer a solid seating option for students to be able to sit in a small group and learn while being provided with an outlet for their excess energy. The wobble cushions offer a simple and easily portable seating choice for kiddos that require a little bit of movement to help them focus. Multiple oversized Big Joe seating options offer a spot for learning that students can be excited about, they will be available during independent learning tasks so that students can focus on learning rather than their discomfort! The pillow pets offer a fun, comfortable floor seating option so that students can choose a spot in our classroom and get comfortable while they learn- it's even more motivating that they're cute!
These materials will offer my students the freedom to learn in an environment that offers the support they need in order to focus less on their excess energy and more on their learning!
